Basketball League Management Application
This is a 100% SharePoint based minor league or corporate sports league management program, entirely
designed with SharePoint Services out-of-the-box functionality. It allows fans, players, team and league
managers to
- Schedule games and team practices
- Record game and individual player results
- Track and display team rankings and player statistics
Site may be flexible enough to also allow management of other types of team sports. Give it a try and
let us know if you would like to see any improvements or also if you would just like to tell us that you
like or do not like the site. You can leave your feedback by signing the Visitor's book found under Actions
to the left. You may need to sign in as a visitor to leave your message (U: Visitor1, P: MyPass1). Thanks.
Site Organization and Navigation
Site is organized into a set of lists and views. Lists hold teams, players, games, practices, and game and
practice locations.
All lists are listed and accessible from the left side of the page under the 'Lists' heading.
To get a better idea about this site, you can check each list while reading these instructions by
simply clicking on any of the list icons on the left. You can come back to this page by clicking
on the 'Basketball League' breadcrumb navigation bar found directly above each displayed list
and page or by clicking the 'Home Page' link under the Resources heading.
Site Users list is a special list that maps registered SharePoint users into a site list that is then available
as a dropdown list to be used by other lists. We found it easier this way to use site users such as
players, coaches, managers and assign them to teams and use them in any other lists.

Record Results
Once the games are played, record the game score into the games list form, record player stats such
as points, fouls, etc. into the Player Games list, and also record the number of each team wins, loses,
games played, and overall league standing points into the Teams list. Teams list can then be sorted on
the points’ column to show the overall ranking of teams in the league.
